Dell'Arte Pigalle DG-P1 is an acoustic gypsy style guitar in very good condition and perfect working order.
Started in the late '90s as a collaboration between a Gypsy Jazz guitar player and an ex-Taylor employee, Dell’Arte has answered the call to players looking for accurate vintage replicas in the style of the original Selmer and Maccaferri guitars, which are currently fetching astronomical prices.
The guitar an open and dynamic quality thats very easy to appreciate.
Designed in the USA and built in China, the Pigalle has a solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, a rosewood fretboard and mustache bridge, a brass Maccaferri-style tailpiece and an oval-hole soundhole with a Selmer-style rosette. This Django-style model is designed for lead playing and has the forward midrange and treble frequencies to get you there, with tight low end and great string to string separationProfessionally setup with low action and solid intonation.
The mahogany neck has a D profile, that while on the slim side, definitely has the classic shoulders of Gypsy style guitars, with a 1 13/16" nut width. The fretboard boasts a zero fret, pearloid dot inlays, and 21 frets .The slotted headstock sports a Gold Dell'Arte logo,
The body boasts multi-ply binding on the top and back, as well as the rosette, along with an upgraded Selmer Maccaferri style tailpiece, which is a tonal and functional improvement over the original.
Inside the soundhole, the original label is visible, boasting of the brand's San Diego, California origins. Cosmetically, this guitar is in very good shape .
This is a Gypsy Jazz style acoustic at a very reasonable price!
