1957 SILVERTONE-THIN TWIN 1369L ("JIMMY REED") Model

GREAT tone, unique vibe and character-a collectors model.
Sunburst, semi-hollow body, electric guitar.
Finish is very good and original , laminated maple body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.
These are fabulous rare guitars and this is in superb condition for its age
The guitar is all original and it plays incredibly with low action all the way up the neck.
The "Thin Twin" models were offered between 1955 and 1958 in the Sears catalogs.
The 1955-56 models had a white engraved headstock while the 1957-58's had black.
It's nickname comes from the two very thin pickups (with huge hot refrigerator magnets.)
Aside from some cosmetic differences it's identical to the Kay guitar Jimmy played (Kay model: K-161). It comes with a hardcase.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 14 7/8 in. (37.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim.
It chunky medium C shaped neck and heavy body about 7.5-8 lbs
Scale length is 25 3/4 in. (654 mm.)
Width of nut is 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.).
The 'Thin Twin' was so named because of its double 'blade' pickups, tips of a giant magnet and coil (from a refrigerator as are the pick ups on Ry Cooders guitars))
Also nicknamed the 'Jimmy Reed' model because of its association with the seminal bluesman.
Howlin' Wolf's guitarist, Hubert Sumlin, has also been seen workin' this axe, among others..
